Stratusphere Really unique and well done offering by the one and only Polygon Rainbow. Not only does the moniker set the stage for what is to come but the album title is very fitting as well. Its like a slowly opening kaleidoscope of emotions and energy. A beautiful and trippy journey through the minds eye when listening. Congrats brother Favorite track: Approaching Eternity.

Sham3nRav3n I just can't get enough. It pulls you in so methodically and beautifully. By the time track one sets me up track two blows me off my feet.
Then I lay on my back and experience the rest of the album.
Quite well done, as an experience to have. Favorite track: Inner Workings of an External Process.

about

On the heels of radiantly hot remixes of Patchen and KiloWatts featured on the label comes the episodic journey into the vibrant color pallet of multi-format artist and creative Polygon Rainbow. Hailing high from the pacific northwest, Christopher Bourland’s Polygon Rainbow project fuses a multi-dimensional visual world with the same rich textures baked into audio selection that reside somewhere between electronica homages and futuristic synth-wave/vapor excursions. This 5-track project shows the broad mastery of melodic spaces our symmetrical, angular-visioned hero has under his control.

Approaching Eternity sweeps us away with rich pad textures and dulcet melodics. Transforming and evolving with manipulated vocoder trills and rising arpeggiations, the selection forges right to the steps of eternity. Inner workings of an external process is a commodore computer concerto wrapped in a lovely blanket of lo-fi texture. Late 80’s basslines and tight-programmed drums deliver a nostalgic warmth worth consuming. Reconstructing corrupt memories retains the warm lo-fi feelings with fun excursions into stringed instruments and bowed instruments, all with his cascading polyphony of synth layers. Unraveling the code amps up the energy with a rinsed-out, melody-forward selection that grows into a precisely crafted drum and bass banger with dancing bass tones. Lastly is the disenchanted lullaby, Conversation with the Void. Laden with seductive synth pillars and progressive pitch and frequency excursion, this closer implants in your brain for the long stay, whispering, “Can You Hear Me.”

“The creative act is a letting down of the net of human imagination into the ocean of chaos on which we are suspended, and the attempt to bring out of it ideas.
